The speaker lineup for the 2017 TEDxZumbroRiver is comprised of insightful local and national speakers with a variety of backgrounds, each with a different perspective of this year’s theme, “What’s Possible?”
Let’s meet Vivian Barad.
Vivian Barad is a Senior Portfolio Director at IDEO. Her work spans business strategy, consumer products, services and retail environments with a focus on food and beverage. She has a passion for designing a better food system and spends a lot of time thinking about the intersection of food and health – from personal health to the health of the planet.
An industrial designer by training, Vivian has a keen eye for visual details and simple, intuitive solutions. Clients include the CDC, Campbell’s, St. Joseph’s Health System, Suntory, and WhiteWave Foods.
Asked a few interview questions about her experience with the 2017 TEDxZumbroRiver, she had this to say:
Why did you want to be a TEDxZumbroRiver speaker?
I wanted to share what I learned from my personal journey towards health and TedxZumbroRiver seemed like the ideal place to do it.
Describe your TEDx talk in three words
Cooking saves lives.
What do you hope the audience walks away with from your TEDx talk?
I hope people feel inspired to change how they think about food, health, and cooking.
